Depart early from Fes and travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains with a stop in Midelt. Continue through the scenic Ziz Valley before arriving in Merzouga in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel or guesthouse near the dunes.
Explore the desert by 4×4 and visit nomad villages, including Khamlia village known for Gnawa music. Enjoy a camel ride at sunset across the dunes, then head toward Tinghir for a short visit to Todra Gorges. Continue to the Dades Valley for dinner and overnight.
