Fes to Marrakech via Merzouga. A 3-day journey across Morocco’s deserts and mountains, featuring camel trekking in the Sahara, dramatic gorges, ancient kasbahs, and the stunning High Atlas landscapes.
- Day 1: Fes – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga
Depart early from Fes and travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains with a stop in Midelt. Continue through the scenic Ziz Valley before arriving in Merzouga in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel or guesthouse near the dunes.
- Day 2: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
Explore the desert by 4×4 and visit nomad villages, including Khamlia village known for Gnawa music. Enjoy a camel ride at sunset across the dunes, then head toward Tinghir for a short visit to Todra Gorges. Continue to the Dades Valley for dinner and overnight.
- Day 3: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Aït Ben Haddou – Marrakech
Drive along the famous Route of a Thousand Kasbahs, stop in Ouarzazate, and visit the UNESCO-listed Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah. Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and arrive in Marrakech by the evening.
